The Baltimore Album Block series continues with a vase and layered roses block.

Simple Layered Roses Description and Supply List 

  1. Background Fabric, 1 Fat Quarter
  2. Green for leaves, 1 Fat Quarter, Batiks work well.
  3. Scrapes of fabric for the vase
  4. Scrapes of several different rose colored fabrics
  5. Clover White and/or Blue Marking Pens, depending of fabric color selections
  6. Pencil
  7. Clover Easer Pen
  8. Mettler 60/2 and/or YLI #100 silk thread for appliqué to match foreground fabrics (or in the case of silk nearly match)
  9. Basting thread in contrasting color and needle for basting.
  10. Size 11 or 12 Appliqué needles, I prefer to use Piecemakers, Size 12.
  11. Thread Heaven Thread Conditioner
  12. Appliqué Pins, ½” or ¾”.
  13. Appliqué Scissors, small, sharp to the point, I prefer Micro-serrated Ginghers
  14. Paper cutting scissors, small, sharp to the point.
  15. Bamboo skewers 4”, available at most grocery stores.
  16. Freezer Paper, available at most grocery stores.
  17. Tracing Paper, available at most stores with art supplies.
  18. Your preferred thimble for appliqué.
